Heartland Cavalier Connection Inc is dedicated to rescuing Cavalier King Charles Spaniels in need of a loving home.

Cavalier King Charles Spaniels originated in England in the 1600s and were bred to mostly be lap dogs, but often joined the family on a hunt.  Cavaliers come in four colors: ruby (solid red), blenheim (red and white), tricolor (black, white, and brown), and black and tan.

Blenheim is the most popular coat color.  The breed is known for their affectionate and easy going personality, making them a great fit for most households.  Activity levels can vary from dog to dog, with some pups enjoying dog sports and a more active lifestyle, while others prefer to relax on a plush pillow and have only moderate energy needs.  They are pint sized, averaging 12-18lbs, and living an average of 10-15 years. They can have a variety of health issues, but their loving and loyal personalities make up for any flaws.  Adult dogs are often mistaken for puppies because of their neotenous features and, like potato chips, it can be hard to only have one!
